How to make a QR code for a Google Form

Copy the form’s share link, turn it into a QR code, and print it or put it on a slide. People scan it and the form opens on their phone.

Step by step

Forms open on any phone without the Google app.

  1. 1In Google Forms, press Send and choose the link tab. Tick "Shorten URL" and copy the link.
  2. 2Paste it into the Google Forms QR generator and pick a design.
  3. 3Download PNG for slides and screens or SVG and PDF for print, and scan it once to check.

Make the form easy to fill on a phone

Keep it short: people scanning a code are standing up, often in a queue. Put the most important question first, use multiple choice instead of long text where you can, and turn off "Requires sign in" unless you need it, so people without a Google account can answer.

Use a dynamic code if the form might change

If you might switch to a new form next term or next event, make the code dynamic. You can point it at the new form later without reprinting, and see how many people scanned, which tells you how many saw the code but did not submit.

Questions

The code still opens the form page, which then says the form is closed. With a dynamic code, you can send people somewhere else.

Yes. The feedback and form code types host a simple form for you and collect the answers.
