Getting started with the API
On Pro, open Developers in the app and create a key. Copy it straight away: we only keep a fingerprint.
Send it as Authorization: Bearer <key>. You can list, create, update and archive codes, read their statistics, and render static QR codes and barcodes as SVG. Each key may send 60 requests a minute.
Save a code’s look as a template and pass its id as "template" when you create codes, so every code from your system matches your brand.
A first request
List your codes with GET /api/v1/codes, sending your key in the Authorization header. Responses are JSON. Going over the rate limit returns HTTP 429: wait a minute and try again.
The full reference, with every endpoint, field and error, is in the developer docs, and an OpenAPI 3.1 file is available for Postman, code generators and AI tools.
Keeping keys safe
Keep keys on your server, never in a web page or a mobile app. If a key leaks, revoke it in Developers and create a new one; revoking takes effect at once.
- Static vs editable QR codes
- Change where a printed code goes
- Reading scan statistics
- Send scans to different links (rules and A/B tests)
