Static vs editable QR codes

A static code stores your link or text in the pattern itself. It is free, never expires and needs no account, but once printed it cannot change.

An editable code stores a short link (like q.qrglo.com/ab3cd). Scans go through us to wherever you point it now, so you can change the destination after printing, see scan statistics, pause it, add a password or schedule.

The free plan includes 3 editable QR codes, 3 Smart Links and 3 barcodes. Static codes are unlimited.

Which one should I make?

Make an editable code for anything printed in quantity or left in place: menus, packaging, posters, flyers, business cards and signs. Links change, menus change, campaigns end, and an editable code turns each of those into a quick edit instead of a reprint. It is also the only way to know how many people scanned.

Make a static code when the content will never change and must work without any service, such as the Wi-Fi code for your own network, a plain text label, or a one-off code for a slide.

What happens when I reach the free limit?

Nothing stops working. Every code keeps redirecting, whatever your plan. Without Pro, your three oldest codes stay editable and the rest become read-only until you upgrade or delete some.

You can always make more static codes, with no account and no limit.
