What we record about scans
For each scan we keep the time, approximate location (country, region, city), device type, system, browser, language, referring site and where the scan was sent.
We do not store IP addresses or set cookies on people who scan your codes.
How unique visitors are counted without tracking
To count a visitor once a day, we combine a few details of the request with a secret key and the date, and keep only the resulting hash. The same phone gives a different value tomorrow, so visits cannot be linked across days or traced back to a person.
Bots and link previews from chat apps are recognised and left out of your numbers.
