Short links on your own domain

People trust go.yourbrand.com more than a link they do not recognise. Connect a subdomain once and every new code can use it.

01

What you get

One DNS record

Add a CNAME for a subdomain such as go.yourbrand.com. We check it and switch it on.

HTTPS included

Certificates are issued and renewed automatically.

Per code

Choose the domain when you create a code. Older codes keep their links and keep working.

Up to 5 domains

One per brand, region or client.

02

How it works

  1. 1

Open Domains in your dashboard and enter a subdomain.

  2. 2

Add the CNAME record at your DNS provider.

  3. 3

Once it shows as connected, pick it for new codes and links.

Why brands use their own short domain

People are more careful about scanning codes than ever. A link that shows your own name, such as go.yourbrand.com/menu, tells them where they are going before they open it, and looks consistent on packaging, signs and ads. It also keeps your printed codes tied to a name you control.

How to connect a domain

Pick a subdomain you do not use yet, such as go, qr or links. At your DNS provider, add a CNAME record from that subdomain to the address shown in your dashboard. We check the record, issue an HTTPS certificate and switch the domain on, usually within minutes.

Your main website is not affected. Visiting the bare subdomain can open a page of your choice.

Security and limits

Every connected domain gets an HTTPS certificate automatically, so scans open securely without anything for you to renew. You can connect up to 5 domains, for example one per brand or per client, and pick the domain for each code.

Codes you already printed with the standard q.qrglo.com link keep working; only codes you download after choosing your domain use it.

Custom domains questions

Use a subdomain. A root domain cannot carry the CNAME record, and your website stays where it is.

They keep their original links, which keep working.

No, custom domains are a Pro feature.

Any provider that lets you add a CNAME record, including Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap and Squarespace.

Changing a code’s domain changes its pattern, so printed copies keep the old link. Pick the domain before you print.
