How it works

  1. 1

Open the generator on Image QR and enter your link.

  2. 2

Drop in a photo, then adjust the fade until the scan check is happy.

  3. 3

Download, and scan it with two phones before printing.

What an image QR code is

An image QR code is a normal QR code laid over a photo or picture of your choice. The picture is softened just enough for the dark squares to stand out, so phones can still read the code while people see your product, venue or artwork behind it.

It is different from AI art: nothing is painted for you. You bring the photo, and you decide exactly what is in it.

Getting a photo that scans

Light, calm pictures work best: a sky, a table top, a pale wall or a soft-focus product shot. Very dark or very busy photos need more fading. Use the fade control until the scan check says the code reads well, and keep the corner squares clear.

Rounded or dot-shaped modules with dark colours usually look best over a photo. The suggested looks under the picture are tuned for this.

Where image codes work well

Restaurant table cards with a photo of the dish, real-estate signs with the house, product packaging, wedding invitations, event posters and portfolio cards. Combine it with a dynamic code to change the destination after printing and count scans.
